In 2025 few people would still be surprised in finding out that we’re effectively witnessing a new industrial revolution before our very eyes: artificial intelligence (AI) is officially permeating all aspects of our daily lives and workplaces. And while Generation Alpha is set up to be the first AI-native generation, it is essential not to leave adults behind when it comes to developing the skills to understand and use AI effectively. For this purpose, the FutureForward partnership is happy to announce that the FutureForward Trainer Platform — a web-based solution that supports adult trainers and instructors to provide useful, real-world training on how to use AI — is officially available for everyone to use.
The FutureForward Trainer Platform was developed with the intention of coaching educators, providing them with the equipment and material needed to empower adult learners to: access and utilize AI-based services, gain essential digital and critical skills, integrate AI into their work and personal life.
How does the platform work?
While the FutureForward Trainer Platform is an open source that can be accessed by the public at large, in order to ensure maximum efficacy for the course, we reckon that educators should possess foundational competences in the following areas: AI literacy, pedagogical competences, and interpersonal competences.
The course developed by the FutureForward partnership delves into themes such as AI literacy — understanding core AI concepts and tools — and using AI in practical use cases — learning how to implement AI in tasks such as content creation, personal project planning or cybersecurity.
Do you want to learn how to design your own lesson?
The FutureForward Trainer Platform is based on two key segments, guiding teachers from course planning to delivery.
While a series of Lessons Plans are available for trainers to start giving courses right away, the platform was developed with the intention of teaching prospect trainers how to design their own lessons: for this reason, we made available a series of Resources to design AI courses. This segment provides practical information about how to structure lessons, pick appropriate tools, and apply AI principles in real-life scenarios. The resources are versatile enough to accommodate diverse learner needs.
The platform has been co-developed by FutureForward project partners through collaboration, and mixed together adult education expertise and AI. This approach to co-creation has the benefit of being able to guarantee that the platform not only remains easy to use and pragmatic, but also actually reflects the real needs of European learners and educators.
