In recent years, Erasmus+ has increasingly strengthened its commitment to adult education, supporting not only formal learning pathways but also inclusive educational initiatives designed to reach broader and more diverse audiences. Today, lifelong learning is no longer limited to traditional classrooms or professional specialization: it is becoming an essential tool for active participation in society, digital inclusion, and personal empowerment.
Within this context, the FutureForward project was created with the aim of making Artificial Intelligence more understandable, accessible, and useful for everyone.
Artificial Intelligence is rapidly transforming the way we communicate, work, access information, and organize our daily lives. However, many adults — especially those with limited digital experience — still feel excluded from these changes or uncertain about how to approach new technologies safely and confidently. FutureForward responds to this challenge by offering practical, accessible, and multilingual online learning opportunities focused on AI literacy and digital awareness.
The FutureForward platform includes two complementary learning areas.
The first is a MOOC section designed for the general public, featuring free online courses that introduce the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence in a simple and engaging way. Learners can explore topics such as:
- understanding what AI really is,
- using AI tools in everyday life,
- improving digital communication and productivity,
- recognizing misinformation and fake news,
- protecting personal data and privacy online.
The courses include short videos, quizzes, animations, and practical examples, making them accessible even to people without technical backgrounds or previous digital training.
The second area is dedicated to trainers, educators, and professionals working in adult education. This section offers more specialized resources and methodological support aimed at helping educators integrate AI-related topics into their teaching practices. In a rapidly evolving digital environment, continuous professional development is essential not only for learners, but also for those who guide and support learning processes every day.
One of the key strengths of FutureForward is accessibility. All courses are available online, free of charge, multilingual, and fully asynchronous, allowing participants to learn at their own pace and according to their own schedules. The materials will remain openly accessible over time, reinforcing the project’s commitment to sustainable and inclusive education.
By combining digital literacy, adult education, and accessible innovation, FutureForward contributes to the broader Erasmus+ vision of empowering citizens through lifelong learning and ensuring that technological transformation becomes an opportunity for everyone — not a barrier.
